VPL is hiring for a Library Page!
A Library Page is a vital support team member who helps keep the library running smoothly and the collections organized and accessible. Pages play a key role in maintaining the physical collection, supporting front-line library services, and ensuring that patrons have a welcoming, orderly environment.
About the Role: This is an entry-level, part-time position ideal for someone who is organized, reliable, attentive to detail, and interested in library work. No prior professional experience is required — on-the-job training will be provided. Pages gain firsthand experience with library operations and are often the first step for future positions in libraries and information services.
Library Page Hours and Pay
6 hours per week
3 hours on Wednesdays and 3 hours on Fridays in the afternoon/evening.
The pay is minimum wage, $16.00 per hour
Qualifications
High school diploma or currently working toward completion.
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
Ability to sort and organize items accurately and efficiently.
Comfortable performing physical tasks such as bending, reaching, and lifting up to moderate weight (e.g., book carts).
Why This Role Matters
Library Pages are often the “behind-the-scenes” heroes of the library — ensuring that collections are ready for patrons and that the library remains a clean, inviting place to discover, learn, and explore. Many library professionals begin their careers as pages, and this role offers excellent exposure to the everyday operations of a library.
