Vestal Public Library Director Position Opening
The Board of Trustees of the Vestal Public Library, Vestal, NY, seeks a dynamic and visionary leader to serve as full-time Library Director. This opportunity requires an individual with excellent team-building and interpersonal communication skills. The ideal candidate will also demonstrate a commitment to public service and the mission of the library.
The Vestal Public Library, an independent school district library, is funded by and provides library service to the residents of the Vestal Central School District. Vestal has a rich history and a strong sense of community and takes pride in its excellent school system.
The Director of the Vestal Public Library will be expected to:
Lead and motivate a diverse staff
Advocate for the library
Cultivate strong partnerships with community stakeholders
Provide strategic direction and long-range planning in response to local needs
Requirements:
Master of Library Science degree from an ALA-accredited school
Experience as a Library Director or in another library leadership role with financial responsibilities
Meet Library Director III Civil Service requirements (see attached job description)
Residency in Broome or Tioga County preferred

Salary range is between $65,000 and $80,000 and will be based on experience and qualifications.
